Job Responsibilities : HR Assistant

Salary : $19 – $20 an hour

Description: Location: Salt Lake City Utah -Hybrid Office/Work from home (Possible)
Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday
Pay: $19.00 – $20.00/hr.

The Human Resources Assistant performs work of varying levels of complexity in human resources and recruiting administration. This position carries out responsibilities in a variety of areas including those related to HRIS management compliance recruiting onboarding benefit enrollment recordkeeping (electronic and paper) and affirmative action compliance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
HRIS

  • Serves as internal end user expert for HRIS systems including Paylocity and Employee Navigator
  • Configure and customize layouts in Paylocity Onboarding Recruiting Performance Management Self Service Portal etc.
  • Data entry in both databases including status changes disciplinary action terminations set up benefit premiums etc.
  • Track and report training
  • Run custom and routine reports

Recruiting/Onboarding

  • Requisition job posting and candidate record retention requirements
  • Communicate timely and effectively with all candidates
  • Support hiring process from requisition to approval to hire through the use of Paylocity and Recruiting system
  • Assist managers with screening and/or interviewing as needed
  • Attend job fairs and recruiting events
  • Conduct employment verifications
  • Schedule set-up and conduct HR Orientation and Onboarding
  • Schedule new hire trainings
  • Process background checks
  • Coordinate drug screens
  • Ensure all new hire paperwork is accurate and complete
  • Manage MVR and OIG exclusion list
  • Create new hire and medical files
  • Maintains employee referral program

Compliance

  • Enter all initial and annual compliance requirements in Paylocity as they are completed
  • Track all initial and annual compliance requirements including: background screenings CPR/first aid OIG driver license auto insurance MVR Mandt Elsevier performance evaluations food handlers 12 hours annual training etc.
  • Run custom and routine reports
  • Ensure notifications are sent to employees their managers and CHRO of renewal deadlines
  • Assist with affirmative action plan annual update
  • Follow up on renewals
  • Copy/scan appropriate documentation

Termination

  • Ensure resignation letters are received as appropriate
  • Pull employee file and transfer to terminated files
  • Send out separation notifications to appropriate team members
  • Verify all company property has been returned

Filing

  • Maintain all employee and medical files
  • Conduct file audits
  • Filing

Information Requests

  • Respond to employment verifications
  • Respond to routine employee government and parent/guardian requests
  • Answer general HR questions

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources business or related field is required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant HR experience is required
  • Paylocity and Employee Navigator experience preferred but not required
  • Pass a fingerprinted criminal background check upon hire and annual thereafter
