Insider is hiring a paid editorial fellow to help contribute to our e-commerce coverage from the retailers making millions selling products online to how platforms like Amazon and Shopify make it all possible.
The Retail Fellow will report on companies like Etsy eBay and a slew of other up-and-coming direct-to-consumer brands. They spend their time doing meaningful work: researching writing pitching and producing features and sharp analysis. They have the opportunity to contribute to stories like Shopify pushes employees to take personality tests and post their results for coworkers to analyze. It’s a divisive practice that’s sweeping across boardrooms globally and Unilever is laying off 1500 employees as part of a huge reorg. But some insiders say it’s blind to its biggest problems and ‘too nice’ to fix them.

- A passion for digital storytelling and voracious reading habits
- Familiarity with digital and social media
- Ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced team
- Light HTML and/or Photoshop experience
