The State of New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources New Hampshire State Library located at 20 Park Street Concord NH has a full time vacancy for a librarian II.
SCOPE OF WORK: Provides reference services; Instructs library patrons in the use of genealogical and family history resources; Indexes annual bills introduced by the NH General Court and the biennial state budget; manages the state’s library’s Federal Documents Depository program.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Staffs general reference desk responds to inquiries received in person via the telephone and e-mail; and instructs and aids patrons in using print and electronic resources at the library.

Develops finding aids and instructional materials for family historians and genealogists.

Indexes the bills index for the bound volumes of NH annual session bills as introduced in the NH General Court.

Biannually Indexes the NH operating budget.

Assists with maintenance of the State Government Digital Document Depository.

Attends professional library conferences training sessions and other meetings to maintain professional competence.

MINIMUM QUALIFAICATIONS:

Education: Master’s degree in library science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Two years’ experience in professional library work.

Special Requirements: This position may require occasional telework for special grant or research-related projects. Employee must read the Department of Administrative Services Division of Personnel Telework Technical Assistance Manual and agree to follow all the mandates contained therein including Cell Phone & Computer Use Agreement. In telework assignments job functions are accomplished in the field with no immediate access to supervision; therefore the ability to work independently is required.
