The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is seeking an experienced dependable and highly motivated office support professional to serve with the Benner Spring State Fish Hatchery and Pleasant Gap State Fish Hatchery located in State College Pennsylvania.

As a Clerical Assistant 2 for the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission you will:

  • Serve as primary receptionist which involves screening of telephone calls and greeting and directing individuals to appropriate personnel. Arrange and coordinate tours provide PFBC informational literature.
  • Serve as timekeeper for both hatcheries ensure all leave and payroll is recorded accurately and timely.
  • Process payments for supplies and services with the PFBC purchasing card. Code invoices interact with vendor when discrepancies occur and perform monthly reconciliation.
  • Assist in preparation of stocking schedules for trout warm cool and/or cooperative nurseries coordinate with stocking coordinator and other PFBC staff and regional offices.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Prepare and submit travel expense reports for hatchery employees.
  • Operate standard office equipment such as a personal computer copying machine and facsimile machine.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Entry level position. Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday – Friday with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the Benner Spring State Fish Hatchery located in State College PA.
  • Salary: A hire who is new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $32176.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • 1 year of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.
  • 1 year of experience processing invoice payments and maintaining financial records.
  • 1 years of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer copier scanner and facsimile machine.
  • 1 years of experience inputting time and attendance.
  • 1 year of experience handling incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Any experience with SAP.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
