Assure compliance with applicable laws codes rules and regulations; maintain current knowledge of current legislation regarding Workers’ Compensation issues ADA and how it applies to the interactive process.
Monitor and coordinate Workers’ Compensation claims;
Provide information to appropriate personnel and submit claims within twenty-four hours of knowledge via assigned computerized database. Identify areas of safety concerns based upon injury reports and notify appropriate personnel to correct.
Initiate contact with injured worker. Serve as contact person for injured employees physicians and superiors. Follow-up on status of and ensure progress of claims. Analyze circumstances of claims injury records and medical evaluations; document injuries;
Coordinate the return to work program for temporary placement of injured workers. Identify and develop appropriate placements for employees in transitional work assignments throughout the district. Communicate with claims adjusters regarding workers’ compensation claims and transitional work. Serve as a District point of contact for accommodation efforts in cases involving occupational injury;
Compose a variety of correspondence including forms letters memoranda special projects legal documents and other materials; prepare and update Workers’ Compensation procedure manuals;
Attend a variety of meetings workshops and conferences to maintain current knowledge of applicable laws codes rules and regulations.
