As a Survey Program Owner and Data Analyst in Microsoft’s People Analytics team (HR Business Insights), your work will enable data-driven decision making leveraging the voice of our employees. You will work on a range of impactful analytical projects that will utilize your analytical, statistical/ML, and communication capabilities, and support your growth.

In this role you will work with fellow “learn-it-all” analysts and data scientists who are passionate about their work, and eager to engage in brainstorming sessions and other forms of effective and efficient collaboration. You will engage with clients and partners in our centers of excellence doing industry-leading HR work. You will be supported by a team with a shared commitment to creating an inclusive work environment, where all voices are heard and valued.

Responsibilities

  • Program ownership of the Microsoft Daily Pulse Survey program, including stakeholder engagement, content development and management, and reporting and analysis.
  • Providing timely and relevant analysis of employee sentiment on current events leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data and analytical approaches, often with very short turnaround times.
  • Supporting advanced analytics projects related to leadership development, in partnership with HR center-of-excellence program leads.
  • Contracting with customers, partners, and co-workers to define research questions, analysis plans, and deliverable timelines, sometimes starting from ambiguous requests.
  • Maintaining progress and keeping stakeholders informed with project management skills, including expectation management, driving timely deliverables, identifying dependencies and risks, and adapting to changes internal or external to the project.
  • Translating findings into succinct, actionable business insights, often in coordination with partners who help you tell a holistic story.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics or Economics) or related field and
    • 2+ years of experience applying analytical methods to business problems, driving improved decision-making and outcomes
    • 2+ years of experience using statistical software (R, SPSS or similar) including the application of multivariate models
    • 1+ years of experience in survey design, including item development best practices and considerations, as well as methods for assessing reliability and validity
  • or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics or Economics) or related field and
    • 4+ years of experience applying analytical methods to business problems, driving improved decision-making and outcomes
    • 4+ years of experience using statistical software (R, SPSS or similar) including the application of multivariate models
    • 2+ years of experience in survey design, including item development best practices and considerations, as well as methods for assessing reliability and validity
  • Or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Social Psychology, or related social science field
  • 4+ years of experience applying analytical methods to business problems, driving improved decision-making and outcomes
  • 4+ years of experience using statistical software (R, SPSS or similar), including the application of multivariate models
  • 3+ years of experience in survey design, including item development best practices and considerations, as well as methods for assessing reliability and validity

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $108,200 and $162,200.

At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
