POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Front Desk Agent-Light Housekeeping plays a key role in our mission to “deliver world-class service and products and a memorable vacation experience to everyone that passes through our doors.” They do this by greeting guests checking them in and out of rooms making reservations and performing light housekeeping duties in room’s common areas and hallways.

The position involves:

  • Greeting guests and owners and providing a first point of contact to the property in a manner that creates an excellent first impression.
  • Performing the check-in and check-out process for all guests and owners while being responsible for key control.
  • Performing light housekeeping duties including the light cleaning of rooms halls and common areas. This includes but is not limited to vacuuming cleaning floors (sweeping and mopping) disinfecting dusting furniture and structural surfaces polishing changing linens making beds (professionally) cleaning bathroom (toilet empty/wash trash bins sinks shower/tub mirrors etc.) removing trash cleaning mirrors etc.
  • Collecting all necessary information accurately (contact information credit card information etc.) while registering guests and owners into the computer system.
  • Making reservations and processing cancellations for both guests and owners according to company policies.
  • Resolving the concerns of both guests and owners according to organizational guidelines in a manner that is both effective and tactful being sure to utilize the assistance of management as needed.
  • Proactively assisting guests by anticipating their needs and meeting them and pre-calling guests prior to their arrival to clarify information.
  • Accommodating special requests as possible.
  • Completing daily shift checklists as applicable.
  • Adhering to the organization’s confidentiality guidelines while performing the role.
  • Documenting all guest and owner communications in the departmental log and in the correct locations so all team members remain up to date.
  • Remaining available to guests and owners at all times while on the clock.
  • Managing all aspects of accommodations and reservations (both online and through phone systems) for both guests and owners.
  • Maintaining a cash bank and reporting discrepancies to management.
  • Upselling services and accommodations as appropriate.
  • Updating availability in the computer system as needed and maintaining an awareness of room inventory at all times.
  • Having knowledge about and being able to respond to emergency calls.
  • Partnering with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinating requests for maintenance and repair work.
  • Assisting with luggage for both owners and guests as needed.
  • Working effectively with other department and team members and establishing good working relationships with them to best meet the needs of guests and best facilitate a positive working environment.
  • Practicing all safety guidelines of the organization and encouraging guests to do the same as well.
  • Taking initiative in finding tasks to work on during slower times and seeking ways to better enhance the guest and owner experience.
  • Assisting in other roles as needed.

Qualifications:

No specific experience or degrees are required. We are willing to train. All of our team members are passionate about guest service and helping others. They initiate conversations anticipate the needs of others and interact with others in a courteous and efficient manner. Strong English speaking skills are necessary due to the daily interactions with others. All staff love being team players and are detail-oriented as well as flexible/adaptable. They understand maintaining confidentiality is important. They are able to work a flexible workweek and are willing to work a variety of shifts.

Benefits:

  • A competitive wage of $17.00 per hour. 5 to 10 hours of overtime at $25.50 per hour may be possible. Pay is weekly and all legally required deductions from pay will be made. Tools supplies and equipment for the job are supplied by Harborside Inn at no cost.
