Duties

  • Support senior management team in planning and execution of management initiatives including gathering and reporting data on current office policies and procedures under review.
  • Provides advice and guidance on overall organizational and administrative matters.
  • Independently gathers data for use for specific management functions.
  • Facilitate and/or support records management programs.
  • Data collection and analysis for a variety of programs projects and/or systems.
  • Administrative support (triage calls event/meeting scheduling managing Senior Officer calendars coordination of travel etc.)
  • Assist with business management activities such as budget procurement timekeeping travel asset management space management records management and other office support functions.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

SK-7: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS/SK-5 level: Specialized experience includes the following:

(1) Performing routine administrative duties examples include scheduling conferences or meetings; answering procedural questions related to administrative support functions; developing or maintaining systems to monitor work flow or track activity; preparing routine correspondence.
OR

(2) Have completed one full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Educational fields may include Business Administration General Studies Public Administration etc. (Note: If you select this response you must submit relevant transcripts.)
OR

(3) Have successfully completed all the requirements for a bachelor’s degree and claim Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. Superior Academic Achievement is based on: (1) Class Standing – You must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college university or major subdivision such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration based on completed courses; or (2) Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) – You must have a grade point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B or better) as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B+ or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (3) Honor Society Membership – You may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR

(4) Combination of education and experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.

SK-9: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS/SK-7 level: Specialized experience includes the following:

(1) Researching and analyzing established administrative issues
and

(2) acting as liaison with individuals and groups both inside and outside an organization regarding administrative and/or organizational matters such as: human resources budget procurement logistics facilities and records management.
OR

(3) Master’s or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D. if related.
OR

(4) Combination of education and experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.
