ELECTRONICS ENGINEER (GXP-22-0992-W):

Bowhead seeks an Electronics Engineer to join our team in supporting the Strategic Systems Guidance Navigation and Control Division (GXP) at NSWC Crane. GXP’s mission is to provide electrical electronic and mechanical design engineering software engineering acquisition development new design concepts software and hardware platforms production test and evaluation integrated logistics support reliability maintenance and sustainment functions for a variety of platforms missile systems and test facilities.

Essential functions will include:

  • Engineering investigations and evaluations working with customer(s) to define and document requirements for various products including electro-static and fiber-optic gyro navigators and other navigation sensor technologies
  • Will be responsible for compiling market research on applicable products
  • Functional and environmental testing by developing test plans schedule and conducting the tests for various products
  • Will work with internal and external Government agencies to plan schedule and perform a multitude of tests for various products
  • Acquisition of products required in a timely manner which may include contract negotiation for products
  • Production support including scheduling and coordinating production efforts for Government furnished equipment
  • Must be able to operate equipment to measure and evaluate various components used in the strategic weapon system
  • Will be called upon to provide failure analysis and problem resolution on program products
  • Must be capable of providing technical reports and analyses presentations status reports cost / performance tradeoff studies and risk assessments as will be called upon to prepare progress reports and financial summaries for management
  • May be required to attend seminars and symposia to gather information or present papers and briefs
  • Other duties as assigned
  • About this contract: Bowhead personnel in the GXP Division will provide support services areas of research and development; system/software/safety engineering analysis design test and evaluation; prototyping preproduction and fabrication; reliability and maintainability; logistics and configuration management; quality assurance; in-service engineering and field service; material handling maintenance and repair and inventory management services.

    Requirements

  • A BA/S in Electrical Electronics or Computer Engineering is preferred however additional years of experience may substitute for higher education for well qualified candidates
  • 25+ years of Electromagnetic Interference experience strongly desired
  • Experience identifying functional requirement for test/tester applications.
  • Familiarity with System Engineering concepts.
  • Prior experience supporting NSWC Crane is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite – Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level however candidates with an active Secret are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
