What will you do?

The Director Sales Compensation plays a key role in supporting the Pharma Services Group (PSG) Global Sales organization toward achieving strategic growth objectives and driving continuous improvement in commercial efficiency and colleague experience. This leadership role closely partners with senior leadership sales sales operations finance portfolio management human resources and IT to contribute to sales performance management sales compensation strategies and lead effective management and administration of compensation processes and data that impact sales compensation and sales territory alignment.

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience with sales compensation and using large sets of data to enable a commercial organization with analytics that drive decision making and performance management. This role has accountability for the governance and administration of quarterly and annual sales incentive compensation including administration of target setting territory alignments exception processes and plan modeling. This role will work collaboratively across functions to solve problems and achieve objectives while focusing on continuous process improvement. Leading cross-functional problem solving to achieve objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the development deployment and improvement of technology solutions that handle the compensation process including territory/account level and service level sales targets
  • Lead program to communicate and support sales team understanding of sales compensation opportunities and tools
  • Provide detailed reporting to all levels of sales regarding performance and other key metrics; collaborate with leadership to support new initiatives and work cross-functionally to support driving performance through analytics
  • Advise sales leadership and sales operations to improve sales rep and territory performance including providing detailed analysis recommendations and execution
  • Lead and develop Sales Incentive Compensation team including recruiting training development and performance management
  • Own the end to end processes for Sales Compensation administration and related elements of territory alignment administration for the global team of PSG selling professionals
  • Act as a strategic partner to sales and sales operations leadership to develop manageable compensation plans which empower the sales team to drive and deliver our sales growth ambitions
  • Provide analysis and support around forecast changes tied to account moves new wins/losses etc.
  • Assist sales leaders with understanding the impact of comp and forecasting decisions on individuals
  • Work with sales leaders to successfully roll-out and communicate comp plans spiffs or other compensation related actions
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate compensation processing and payment to the sales teams
  • Ensure all documentation and processes align with applicable policies and governance
  • Lead all aspects of the territory management process throughout the year to maintain accurate account/territory alignment account moves etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum 10 years management in Sales Sales Operations or Sales Compensation Management roles
  • Global experience / ability to work across various regions strongly preferred
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact optimally across organizational levels and functions
  • Strong orientation toward data management data governance and process improvement
  • Can disseminate information effectively and supply regular updates to key partners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compensation planning and administration
  • Must be exceptionally detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Able to work independently multi-task and maintain focus on the goals at hand
