The founding Controller is nok’s first financial hire. In this role, you will be empowered to establish financial processes, build a team, and support strategic decision-making during this rapid growth stage. You will work closely with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and COO to make informed decisions about the company’s growth.

As the first finance hire, you’ll develop the financial calendar and take the actions to adhere to it. This includes month-end closes, AP/AR cycles, tax planning and payments, and so on. You will oversee strategic initiatives, including ERP implementation and consumer risk models development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, communicate and execute the rhythm of business including close, quarterly forecasting and annual planning timelines and deliverables. 
  • Manage the monthly fiscal close process, submitting journal entries and providing reporting results and variance commentary to convey the business story.   
  • Effectively manage budgets throughout the year for these teams. Act as the single point of contact for budget and forecast accuracy. Partner across the organizations to seek out and implement process improvements designed to simplify and improve the efficiency, organization agility, discipline, and excellence in execution. 
  • Provide leadership to strengthen the accounting team with a commitment to recruiting, training and mentoring of staff



  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning and strategy in an Operations organization with high levels of operational complexities
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Google Sheets; experience in SQL
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields (i.e. Economics, Finance, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Computer Science)
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills and strategic mindset
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong communications skills and ability to explain models, analysis, plans etc. in a succinct and easily digestible manner to all audience types
