THE POSITION

Are you a self-directed individual who does well under pressure and would enjoy working in a fast-paced clerical environment? If this describes you you may be interested in the immediate opening for a Clerical Assistant 3 within the Workers’ Compensation Office of Adjudication.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 3 your main duties will consist of providing secretarial support to the Workers’ Compensation Judges. Under the direct supervision of the Clerical/Secretarial Supervisor and indirect supervision of the Administrative Officer you will function in the capacity of office support staff to ensure office operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.

Duties to include:

  • Schedule hearings and mediations.
  • Utilize WCAIS (Workers’ Compensation Automation and Integration System) to maintain a caseload process tasks and distribution of correspondence to parties involved in Worker’s Compensation claim.
  • Communicate with the public by phone email mail or through WCAIS.
  • Type and format decisions.
  • File incoming correspondence petitions exhibits and hearing transcripts in WCAIS/hard copy file as appropriate.
  • Answer incoming questions from external sources according to WCOA Policies and Procedures and refer them to appropriate contacts when necessary.
  • Process and prepare documents/case files related to appealed decisions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday – Friday with one-hour lunch.
  • Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part time. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bristol.
  • Salary: In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
