Job Summary:

The Senior Accounting Consultant within Corporate Accounting & Reporting is a key member of the team and is responsible for completing and submitting statutory filings to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) state regulatory departments and rating agencies for various property and casualty insurance companies.

This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the quarterly/ annual statutory financial statements supplemental schedules and exhibits in compliance with the NAIC and state regulatory requirements.
  • Complying with external regulatory and internal management requirements (state filings IRS SEC and other financial reporting).
  • Preparing business summary analysis for statutory statements including variance analysis trends and explanations.
  • Leading and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance the reporting processes.
  • Leading and managing team projects
  • Leading and guiding team members
  • Other miscellaneous responsibilities and projects
  • Working collaboratively within the team and across other departments of Allstate

Job Qualifications:

Skills Required:

  • Advanced- Knowledge of statutory accounting principles and understands the concepts rules and terminology.
  • Advanced – Ability to multi-task and work with multiple customers and suppliers while consistently meeting required reporting deadlines.
  • Advanced – Knowledge of financial statement reporting and related analysis.
  • Advanced – Ability to assemble and communicate findings to areas requesting analytical information.
  • Advanced – Organization skills and desire to innovate and improve processes.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 4 or more years of related accounting experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail when preparing workpapers and process documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities given aggressive timelines; comfortable performing in fast-paced dynamic and ambiguous business environment
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with various levels of management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of Wings software and/or SAP accounting system a plus

Compensation offered for this role is $80000-$90000 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
